When you present design concepts to a client there is at least one decent design that’s not chosen.

Not that there’s anything wrong with the concept, it’s just not right for that client… but it may be perfect for someone else.

So you package up all the source files for that concept and submit it to CleverAndy.

We take a look in your box

We review you submissions and look at the quality of the PSD file, uniqueness of template and overall appeal. Then we approve your concept and update its status from pending.

When we see an opportunity where your layout would be perfect we send it to production to be built. You will be notified that your concept has gone to production by email as well it’s status will be updated in your profile.

There your concept gets sliced up and built into a fully functioning ExpressionEngine website with all the features we think that client would need. We set them up with a Basecamp account, some Mint stats, email accounts with Google Hosted Apps and hosting with EngineHosting.

We also prepare the documentation, screen cast instructions and all the other mundane stuff that comes with developing and deploying a website.

Once all that is done we take that full featured website built on your concept and go shopping for a client.

How much do I get paid?

Let’s say your design is accepted and we move it to production you will receive a 25% cut of the total sale amount when it gets handed off to the client. This means that you will receive on average $825 - $1000 for your design.

What if you don’t use my design?

If you submit a design and then find a client for it before we do, send us an email and we will drop it from our system. We don’t own your design until we pay for it. It’s your design after all.

Do I get credit for my design?

Absolutely! You can use the design you submitted in your portfolio, we will even link to your site when the project goes live. The wording in the footer will be along the lines of “Designed by [yourFirm] Developed by CleverAndy”. We really want to help you find someone to utilize that design and promote you. After all its your design you should get credit right?

What kind of concept should I upload?

You can upload any concept that you have full rights to.
This means that work done “For Hire” may not be yours, you need to check into that before you submit it.

How do you want my concept?

We would like it in a zip or rar with all of the relevant source files needed to work with that concept.
It needs to be the actual PSD or PNG file with layers intact please do not submit comps or jpegs of the layout.

My Design has not gone to production

When we approve a design that means that we feel it is of a high enough quality to attract a client.
We only move it to Production if we feel there is a high rate of success of a match with a client.

Why havent I been paid?

You only get paid when we successfully match your design with a client.
If your design is successfully matched with a client you will be paid via PayPal 30 days from the signoff date.

Your site looks kinda empty

Yes it does look empty… we cant draw and therefor have no icons atm....
So until we get now that we have icons our official stance is “Icons are for Chumps” “Icons are awesome!”.
That stance may be retracted in the future.
